Patrick Berrogain Guitartist, composer and arranger, Patrick Berrogain first became exposed to the music of Django Reinhardt and the musette repertoire at a young age while growing up in the south of France. It was not until living in San Diego, however, that he formed his own Gypsy jazz group Hot Club of San Diego with fellow ex-patriate and rhythm guitarist, Alain Cola. |

In addition to Gypsy jazz, Patrick is well-versed in many styles and has had extensive performance experience in California and abroad making for a unique and varied career. Before moving to Los Angeles to study jazz at the Musicians Institute of Technology, he toured the world with an Italian pop/rock band, Delta Landa. Upon graduating in 1985 with special mention, he moved to San Diego. In addition to performing with Hot Club, Patrick also performs regularly as a solo artist and with singer Rosemary Watson.
Alain Cola In addition to playing rhythm guitar, Alain Cola is known throughout the Gypsy jazz world as one of its leading promoters. He has produced numerous Django Festivals throughout the United States and is also the owner of Dell' Arte Instruments, a premier manufacturer and retailer of Gypsy Jazz guitars and musical products. Raised in the south of France, Alain came from a family deeply rooted in musical tradition. At a young age his interest in the guitar and the music of Django Reinhardt was strengthened having had the opportunity to learn and play with some of the finest Gypsy guitarists in the area. Prior to co-founding Hot Club with Patrick Berrogain, Alain formed Gypsy Jazz, an acoustic trio that performed regularly in San Diego including a television appearance on Channel 24 and a live concert recording for the Guitar Hour on Jazz 88 KSDS. |
